About this Course

Fiqh of Worship is a comprehensive study of the rulings that govern a Muslim’s acts of devotion, based on the foundational Hanbali text ʿUmdat al-Fiqh by Imam Ibn Qudāmah. This course covers the essential chapters of Purification, Prayer, Zakāh, Fasting, and Ḥajj & ʿUmrah, providing students with a clear, structured understanding of how to correctly implement these obligations in daily life.

While grounded in the Hanbali school, students will also be introduced to comparative positions from other madhāhib, gaining an appreciation for the breadth of Islamic legal tradition as it applies to our multi-cultural society. The course bridges classical rulings with contemporary challenges, ensuring that learners not only know what to do, but why and how to apply these rulings with insight and wisdom.

By the end of this course, students will have the confidence and ability to worship with precision, uphold the sunnah in their rituals, and guide their families and communities in matters of ʿibādah with clarity.
